Successful ground runs for the Do228 NXT

The ground runs of our first Do228 NXT got off to a successful start last week. The engine tests are the next important step in the production of the first aircraft in our new series.

Two Honeywell turboprops at the heart of the Do228 NXT

Powering the versatile multirole aircraft are two Honeywell TPE331-10 turboprop engines, delivering 579 kW (776 SHP) each. Their single-shaft design means compressor, turbine and propeller rotate on one shared shaft — enabling near-instantaneous thrust response. A decisive advantage for short takeoffs, landings and demanding special mission profiles. This gives the aircraft its unparalleled STOL capabilities.

Engine fine-tuning: the next critical step

With the first successful engine runs completed, our experienced team is now entering the critical phase of engine fine-tuning — a task requiring deep technical expertise, precision, and a steady hand. Because only perfectly calibrated engines deliver the performance, efficiency, and safety the Do228 NXT stands for.
